Work, polaroids, and beer brewing are taking up my time at the moment.
You can find me at Flickr and Polanoid for the time being.

Lolcats
For those who’ve never heard of LOLCATS, you’ve been missing out. This phenomenon has been sweeping the internet underworld for years and is finally starting to make it into the main stream. Rather than try to explain it away I have decided to just show you a few of them. Support the LOLCATS, they live on both myspace and facebook as well:
No commentsTop 5 things that are great about Pownce
5. Simple design with simple features. Don’t most great things start out this way?
4. Connecting people and making it easy to friend friends of friends.
3. Simple inline sponsored advertising.
2. Separate stand alone app that allows passive/addictive use.
1. Great name and limited invites make me feel like I’m not with it unless I join.

No commentsLA Fire Department embraces Web 2.0
I was completely blown away today when I noticed that the LAFD is using both Twitter and Flickr to update citizens on what is going on in our community. I’m a long time Flickr user and have recently rekindled my appreciation for Twitter. Uses like this strike me as one of the more powerful applications of this technology. Sure, my friends’ tweets are interesting and will help solve world problems, but getting notifications of fires, burglaries, and car accidents and additionally seeing photos (props to the photographer at the LAFD) when ever and where ever I am (work, home, mobile) is simply amazing!
I want to offer a big thanks to who ever at the LAFD had the brilliant idea to start using Flickr and Twitter. Hopefully other public services will learn from their example and embrace web 2.0.
